What this site is
Chalets in Austria is a short list, not a catalogue. Right now it holds 146 stays in Austria: 71 chalets and chalet apartments, 66 apartments and resort stays, 9 hotels, spread over 11 destinations with their own page. 62 of them have a private sauna, hot tub or pool listed. Each one can be booked in English through a booking partner, and each one earned its place by passing the checks on the how we compare page.
We are not a travel company and we never take a booking or a payment. You deal with the provider, who confirms dates and the final rate. What we add is the part that is hard to find on a listing: how many people really sleep there, how many bathrooms they share, how far the lift is, what is confirmed by two sources and what only the owner says.
Who makes it
Chalets in Austria is written and run by Wes, who started it to give English-speaking groups a straight answer to a simple question: which chalet in Austria really fits us? Each stay is researched from its listing, then compared with a second, independent English-language source before a fact goes up as confirmed. Where we only have one source, the page says so.
Wes founded Chalets in Austria and compares holiday accommodation for people who want straight facts before they book. Every stay here is checked against a second source, and a fact only goes up as confirmed when two sources agree.
What you will find here
- Stays with real photos. Every stay on the site has photos of that stay, with a description of what each one shows. A stay without photos does not appear.
- Facts with a label. Confirmed means two sources agree. Listed means one source, usually the owner, says so. Anything else is left out rather than guessed.
- Long, sourced guides. The destination, category and guide pages are written to answer the questions people ask before they book, with the figures that two sources agree on.
- A map and filters. Find stays by destination, group size, bedrooms and the facilities that matter to your group.
What you will not find here
You will not find prices, because we have no live feed and an old number only misleads. You will not find guest reviews, because we do not collect them and will not copy them. And you will not find an invented "best" ranking: our picks come with the reason beside them, and the order follows facts such as capacity, never commission.
How often we check
There are no live prices or availability on these pages, so nothing needs refreshing every night. What does change is the facts: an owner adds a sauna, a listing corrects a bedroom count. We go back through the stays when that happens and change the date on the page only when we have really looked again.
How we earn
Some booking links are affiliate links. If you book through one we may earn a commission, and you pay the same as you would anyway. Commission does not decide which stays make the list or how they are ordered, and the affiliate disclosure spells out how that works.
